Helm and Remote Control

« Back

The helm unit (console) is beautifully engineered. It is C.N.C. machined from solid aircraft aluminium, the highest grade available, it is obviously sturdy and highly polished, and is resistant to salt oxidisation. A 316 stainless steel. removable cover effectively seals out moisture. Four waterproof wafer switches complete with L.E.D. display, and audible alarms, provide the available functions. Each dual action lever controls one diesel engine . A small movement forward or back engages the gearbox. A further movement applies throttle instantaniously, unless a delay has been selected at installation, to suit that type of gearbox.

With levers in neutral, the take control button commands that console into action. Any other helm unit is inoperable while that console is active. To select power, on another console, levers must be in neutral. This safety feature assures that the other control stations are securely inoperable.
This safely feature can be modified to suit the requirements of individual situations.

The remote control is small and self explanatory with provision for two extra functions, possibly steering or bow thruster operation.
